ATLANTA, June 25, 2021 — ConnectALL LLC, a leading provider of value stream management solutions, today announced the selection of Jazmyn Archer as the recipient of its first Betty Knight ConnectALL Technology Scholarship. A Lawrenceville, Ga. native, Archer is in her sophomore year at the University of North Georgia (UNG) Gainesville campus working toward her degree on the Computer Science pathway.
“Jazmyn was an outstanding applicant, a Computer Science pathway student, and came to UNG interested in Computer Science from high school,” says Lance Knight, President and COO of ConnectALL. “She tutors other students in the Math Lab, is involved in extracurricular activities including at least one leadership role. She is exactly the type of student my grandmother, Betty Knight, would have wanted to help.”
Per UNG, the computer science-related pathway courses provide students with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of computer programming and technology. The courses taught in the degree program present the topic as a problem-solving discipline with emphasis on object-oriented programming, algorithm development, coding, debugging and documentation of programs. Students are also introduced to computer ethics, discrete mathematics and an additional math-based course.
“I applaud UNG for their efforts to promote computer science in all of its aspects that goes well beyond coding,” Knight notes. “I cannot imagine a better institution with which we could partner as they work to bring more student diversity to the technology field.”
